Soft Cornered Wooden Triangles

In our house, we pull away from the TV as often as possible and find value in our time together.  Great plan, tough to pull off with full cooperation!  Crafting nights usually begin with my husband dumping bags of pieces in a bowl and looking for inspiration in the mess.  He finds it on occasion, but I need a to focus on one item at a time.  Sometimes a spend my spare moments throughout my work day fixated on one single shape.  Most recently, my daydreams lived here:

Any thoughts?  My results are soon to follow!  Enjoy your craft!

Welcome Crafters!

A finished craft can be small glimpse into the soul of the artist.  As we spend our day juggling our details, obligations, and schedules, we usually have little left to feed our souls.  Day after day I seemed to find myself scrambling to find moments of creative personality.  I looked up from my computer one night to find myself using my spare moments hunting for efficiencies rather than nourishing my craft.  This was never part of the plan....

Time came to recommit.

I shuffled some things....

I transferred some priorities...

I got my hands dirty again....

I started to smile a little more...

Then a little more....

And finally, I grinned a big stupid smile.

I still have all those pesky obligations, but they now seem to matter a little less.  Evenings are spent creating wooden crafts and sending pieces to craftmates.  Through posts, I hope to offer my view of process and my heartfelt creations.  All it takes is a piece of wood, a bead of sweat, and a little perspective.  Each piece is an opportunity.  A chance to grin a little.  A glimpse into ourselves.  Join me?
